Join The CDB Group and Durham Fringe team to help us build a theatre in just one day!

This summer, Durham Fringe is opening The Academy, a new performing arts venue in the heart of Durham City. The venue will house a 70-capacity theatre space which will soon play host to five days of performances during the 6th Durham Fringe Festival, and it will be a space which we bring to life with regular Durham Fringe Presents events and share with other organisers, partners and collaborators.

On Friday 19th June, we're inviting 10 people to learn how to build a venue. How will you learn? By helping us build it! No previous experience is required -- we'll give you all the information and tools you'll need to make this possible.

Task will include building:

  • A seating rostra
  • Overhead truss system
  • Pipe and drape space dividers
  • Portable dance floor

Who is this day for?
